Renal carcinoma

Renal carcinoma in a mixed breed bitch. Note the irregular appearance of the surface of the left kidney, which exhibits an approximately 5cm mass, bosselated and whitish in colour. When cut, the mass is shown to invade both renal cortex and medulla, appearing, however, well-circumscribed and at least partially encapsulated. At the time of death, the tumour had already metastasized to the lungs and brain.
