Renal abscesses

Renal abscesses in a 22-year-old mixed breed mare. Note the multiple yellow-grey lesions, which can be identified in both kidneys. These lesions, friable and ill-defined, correspond to areas of renal necrosis and suppuration. This animal exhibited other lesions with the same characteristics in the left cheek and base of the tongue, as well as in the lungs.
