Acute pulmonary oedema in a Capuchin Monkey. Both lungs appear intensely congested, releasing foamy liquid when cut. Acute pulmonary oedema is so suddenly established that it does not allow for activation of compensatory mechanisms (vicarious emphysema), frequently leading to death of the affected individual.
