Exudative pneumonia and fibrinous pleurisy in a 7-month-old female Siberian Tiger. Upon opening the thoracic cavity, mediastinal and subpleural emphysema could be seen, secondary to rupture of areas of vicarious alveolar emphysema. Both lungs were congested, with increased consistency, and did not float when placed in water due to the fibrinous-leucocytic exudate which had replaced air in the alveoli.
