Feed aspiration

Feed aspiration in a 6-month-old Ostrich. Transportation-related stress resulted in feed aspiration in this animal, which exhibited corn and wheat grains within the trachea, lungs and air sacs, as seen in the images. The lung appears congested, as part of the organ’s reaction to the presence of foreign bodies.
