Rhodococcus pneumonia

Suppurative Rhodococcus equi pneumonia in a foal. Note the presence of a large number of abscesses disseminated throughout the lung, particularly in the cranial regions (cranial and intermediate lobes and cephalic portion of the main lobes). Cutting the lung revealed the purulent material contained in the abscesses (right-side image).
