Diffuse degeneration of the omental fat deposits in a Porcupine. Note the congestion of the blood vessels of the mesentery and the irregularity of its surface, with deposition of a yellowy substance. Microscopically, the adipocytes appear filled with fibrillary, occasionally calcified material. In another area, oedema and mild cellular infiltration could also be seen. This animal also exhibited diffuse hepatocytic degeneration.
