Calcinosis circumscripta in the left hind limb of a Rottweiler. This condition is characterized by focal deposition of mineral salts in nodular formations, either sessile or mobile in nature, generally in the subcutaneous tissue and limbs of large or giant-sized dogs. Around the calcium deposits an inflammatory reaction arises, usually rich in multinucleated cells. Surgical removal generally provides permanent cure.
