Prostatic hypertrophy in a dog. Note how the prostate is enlarged when compared to the bladder. Additionally, its shape is irregular, without a median sulcus. The bladder contains a large calculus (vesical lithiasis) and the bladder wall exhibits congestion. In the heart, mitral valve irregularity can be seen, corresponding to valvular verrucous endocarditis. A small lesion of parietal endocarditis can also be seen in the auricle (arrow). On the right, the sectioned prostate exhibits pus-containing cysts, corresponding to cystic hypertrophy. The most prominent vesical lesions are those of cystitis secondary to lithiasis.
