Uterine rupture secondary to dystocia in a 7-year-old female Medium Schnauzer. Upon opening the abdominal cavity, copious amounts of uterine-content-rich liquid can be seen. Two corpses of fully developed foetuses can be seen, with their heads inside the birth canal and the remainder of the body within the abdominal cavity. The uterus most likely ruptured after several unsuccessful attempts to deliver the two foetuses, which seem to have simultaneously entered the birth canal and could not be delivered both at once. The heads of both foetuses were extremely deformed due to the pressure applied to them inside the birth canal.
