Hepatic steatosis secondary to malnutrition and dental malocclusion in a Chichilla. The lack of tooth-wear in animals with continuous dental growth can make it impossible for the animal to feed, leading to loss of body condition and mobilization of adipose tissue, which results in the accumulation of lipids in the liver (hepatic steatosis), which becomes pale and friable.
