Hepatic cirrhosis in a 12-year-old female Labrador Retriever. Multiple lesions are evident, 5 to 10cm in diameter and dispersed throughout the parenchyma of all hepatic lobes. Microscopically, these lesions correspond to foci of hepatocytic regeneration/hyperplasia, with an atypical, non-functional architectural organization. Hepatic cirrhosis is typically a chronic process, leading to death of the affected animal.
