Diverticulosis in the colon of an 8-year-old Serra da Estrela crossbreed. Several diverticuli were identified in the rectal wall, varying between 2 and 6cm in diameter. The lesions were probably a consequence of chronic tenesmus, secondary to exuberant prostatic hypertrophy causing compression of the rectum.
