Chronic colitis in a Geoffroy's marmoset. The colon is dilated and retains fibrinous material. Microbiological analysis was positive for Escherichia coli. Histological analysis revealed severe mucosal atrophy as well as extremely high numbers of bacteria in the intestinal lumen (not visible in the image).
