Internal haemorrhage

Internal haemorrhage in an 8-year-old mixed breed dog. The animal was a victim of gunshot, namely from a shotgun, having died of hypovolemic shock secondary to extensive blood loss into both thoracic and abdominal cavities. Note the haemorrhagic appearance of the tissue surrounding the multiple projectile entry points, about 2cm in diameter, with special incidence on the left thigh, back, left thoraco-abdominal wall and left shoulder blade.
