Calcification of the aorta

Calcification of the aortic wall in a 2-year-old Bordeus Dog. This extensive area of calcification appears, in this particular case, at the emergence of the aorta, arising as an irregularly shaped plaque of bony consistency covered with normal endothelium. These calcified lesions may constitute necropsy surprises, without any detectable ante-mortem pathological consequences.
