Cerebral metastasis of a renal carcinoma in a mixed breed bitch. When the brain was removed from the cranial vault, a brown to red mass, about 1cm in diameter, was found stretching from the rhinencephalon to the ethmoid (crista galli). Serial cuts into the encephalon after fixation in formalin allowed the identification of multiple, similar-looking foci, corresponding to metastases of a renal carcinoma.
